RUSTAMGULOFFJilo Studio
A non-linear video editor for the Mac, written in Rust. Jilo Studio is an open-source fork of FilmCraft by the ArtCraft team, tuned for macOS and extended with AI tools for videos in Russian, Tajik and English.
Features
- Editing, color, effects, titles, captions and audio mixing in one window, following the logic of professional editing software
- Apple hardware acceleration: VideoToolbox (H.264, HEVC, ProRes), GPU export, HDR monitors on XDR displays
- Speech recognition right on your Mac (Whisper on Metal) with the time of every word, and editing by text
- AI tools (in progress): speech recognition in Russian, Tajik and English, subtitle translation, highlights, automatic zooms, YouTube descriptions, chapters and tags, batch processing, removing pauses and filler words, framing on faces
- Privacy: no account, ads or telemetry; the cloud engines, Google Gemini and OpenAI, are used only if you choose them, with your own key
Free and open source (MIT / Apache-2.0). Requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 15 or later.
Status: the first release is being prepared. Source code and future versions are on GitHub.
