Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The editor works fully offline. AI features are optional and also run locally — via Ollama on your Mac or Apple Intelligence.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up or login.
How do I enable the AI features?
Option 1: install Ollama and run ollama pull llama3.2 in Terminal, then pick the model in Settings → AI. Option 2: on Macs that support Apple Intelligence, choose the “Apple Intelligence” backend in the same settings.
Which files are supported?
Markdown (.md, .markdown, .mdown, .mkd) and plain text.

How do I customize the look?
