Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
MDCore is a Markdown editor for macOS developed by Rustam Gulov. This policy describes how the app handles your data. In short: the app collects no data whatsoever.
Data Collection
MDCore does not collect, store, or transmit any user information. There are no analytics, no ads, no trackers, and no accounts. Your documents stay on your device.
AI Features
The AI features (chat, rewriting, autocompletion) are optional. By default they run locally and privately: through an Ollama model server on your own computer (localhost) or through Apple Intelligence directly on device — in these modes your document text never leaves your Mac and is not sent to the developer or any third party.
Optionally, you may choose to connect an external AI provider by entering its address and API key in Settings (for example, an OpenAI-compatible service). In that mode, the text you send to the assistant is transmitted to the provider you selected and processed under that provider's privacy policy. This is entirely optional and off by default; the API key is stored in the macOS Keychain.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
