Which readers are supported?
Xteink X4 Pro with the Folio firmware. Readers with the stock firmware cannot connect. Without a reader you can try the app in demo mode: “Try without a reader” on the connection screen.

The app does not find my reader.
On the reader open Menu → “Phone sync”. The phone and the reader must be on the same Wi‑Fi network (2.4 GHz). Allow “Local Network” access for FolioLink in iOS Settings. You can also type the IP address shown on the reader or folio.local.

What is the PIN?
The first time the app changes something on the reader, the reader shows a 6-digit PIN. Enter it in the app — this pairs your phone so nobody else on the network can change your reader.

Does Bluetooth sync drain the battery?
It is off by default. Turn it on both on the reader (Settings → System → Bluetooth sync, then restart the reader) and in the app (More → Device → Bluetooth). Only small data is synced over Bluetooth; books and files use Wi‑Fi.

Are firmware updates safe?
The app only installs firmware releases signed by the Folio project, and every installation must be confirmed on the reader itself.

Does the app collect my data?
No. FolioLink talks only to your reader on your local network or over Bluetooth. See the privacy policy.

Is the app paid?
No. FolioLink is completely free, with no in-app purchases.
