Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
FolioLink (“the App”) is developed by Rustam Gulov (“we”, “us”). In short: the App collects no data whatsoever.
No data collection.
The App does not collect, transmit to us, sell, or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
Your reader, your phone.
The App exchanges data only with your own e-reader running the Folio firmware — over your local Wi‑Fi network or Bluetooth: reading statistics, book lists, shelves, highlights, vocabulary, screenshots, settings, and files you choose to send. This data is stored only on your reader and on your iPhone (in the App’s container and its App Group for widgets). We never receive it.
Internet access.
The App goes online only when you check for or download a firmware update: it then requests release information and files from GitHub (github.com, the public Folio repository). GitHub receives the usual request data such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. When you share a web article to the App, it downloads that page to turn it into a book.
Permissions.
Local Network — to find and talk to your reader. Bluetooth — only if you turn on Bluetooth sync. Photos — only to save reader screenshots when you ask (and, if you enable the “FolioLink” album, to find that album). These permissions power features only and are not used to collect data.
Pairing.
The pairing token that lets your phone change your reader is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and on the reader (as a hash). It never leaves your devices.
Children’s privacy.
Because the App collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
