Dabeer

A native macOS app for private work with speech: audio and video transcription, meeting recording and system-wide dictation. Everything runs locally — once a model is downloaded it works offline, and recordings and text never leave the device.

Speech recognition

  • Transcription of any audio/video macOS understands (mp3, wav, m4a, mp4, mov…), file by file

  • Whisper models from tiny to large-v3-turbo, a built-in download manager with resume and parallel streams, ~99 languages with auto-detection

  • The whisper.cpp engine with GPU (Metal) acceleration, lives in the menu bar

  • Per-segment timecodes

Dictation into any app

  • Global shortcut — double-tap the right ⌘ (or ⌥), text is inserted into the active field

  • Three modes: “Correct”, “Email”, “Prompt”; Escape cancels at any stage

Text and meetings

  • Punctuation and grammar correction by a local model (Qwen 2.5 / Gemma 2 / Llama 3.2, or the built-in Apple model)

  • “Ask the model about the text” — a question over the transcript

  • Meeting recording from the microphone and full transcription

  • History with search, export to .txt / .srt / .md, RU/EN interface, update checker — all offline

Dabeer Pro (in development)

Coming soon. Includes everything in Basic, plus:

  • Meetings: system audio capture (the other side of a call) mixed with the microphone, a player that jumps to a timecode

  • AI chat over documents — a multi-turn chat over attached documents and transcripts, semantic search

  • Output templates: business email, key points, minutes, ticket; EN/RU translation; personal-data (PII) masking

  • Batch processing of an entire folder and a Text → SRT subtitle generator

  • Flexible dictation: custom shortcuts with prompts; a “Prompts” tab to edit every system prompt; manual transcript editing

  • Auto minutes: decisions, tasks with owners, a follow-up email

  • Will be activated with a license key; like Basic — fully local, no cloud

Requires macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon). The apps are signed and notarized by Apple; updates are checked and downloaded right inside the app.
